The City of Dreams Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the John Keells Foundation, is set to debut a captivating West End musical this Friday.
Last week, five members of the international cast for “La Bamba! The Song of Veracruz” arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, generating excitement for the upcoming performance in Colombo.
The talented artists—Madalena Alberto, Eduardo Enríquez, Joseph Hewlett, Mychele LeBrun, and Charlotte Dos Santos Chabi—are visiting Sri Lanka for the first time and will partake in the celebrations of the Sri Lankan New Year during their stay.
Upon their arrival, these international performers will engage in rigorous rehearsals with the local cast, fostering a unique collaboration that marries global talents with local artistry. This partnership is anticipated to enhance the musical’s dynamic storytelling, lively Latin rhythms, and energetic choreography.
The production, under the direction and production of London-based theatre producer Paul Morrissey, features a talented ensemble alongside seven live musicians and a technical crew exceeding 40 members. “La Bamba! The Song of Veracruz” has previously captivated audiences worldwide, with successful performances in the UK, Europe, and North America, showcasing its vibrant music and engaging performances.
This remarkable musical is being presented by City of Dreams Sri Lanka and the John Keells Foundation. Performances will take place from April 24 to April 27 at The Forum, City of Dreams Sri Lanka.
