FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Hellmann MAS Supply Chain, a collaboration between Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and MAS Holdings, has inaugurated a new logistics center in Kimbulapitiya, Sri Lanka. This facility is specifically designed to function as a dedicated fashion hub within Hellmann’s operational network across South Asia.
Covering an area of over 8,000 square meters, the site boasts advanced dual-zone humidity and climate control systems, solar panel installations, and is tailored to manage a comprehensive range of fashion logistics requirements, as stated in a recent announcement.
This infrastructure is poised to facilitate distribution throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Patrick Grzywa, the Regional COO of Contract Logistics IMEA at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, commented, “With the establishment of this custom-built facility, we are enhancing the comprehensive fashion logistics capabilities of Hellmann MAS Supply Chain.”
The company emphasized that Sri Lanka’s strategic location serves as a vital link between Asia, Africa, and Europe, allowing Hellmann to provide logistics solutions that adapt to the changing dynamics of fashion supply chains.
Shakthi Ranatunge, Chief Operating Officer of MAS Holdings and a Board Member of Hellmann MAS Supply Chain, noted, “We are evolving beyond conventional garment manufacturing to offer more integrated and comprehensive supply chain solutions for global brands.”
He added, “This facility boosts our capability to deliver swift and flexible services while fostering the growth of a more robust and future-oriented apparel ecosystem in Sri Lanka.”
