HNB PLC served as the principal sponsor for the Cultural Evening organized by SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka. This event offered a significant opportunity for children and young participants to display their talents through various traditional and modern artistic expressions, including music, dance, and creative performances.
The Cultural Evening not only showcased the skills of the young performers but also aimed to enhance their confidence, self-expression, and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. HNB’s involvement underscored its enduring dedication to empowering youth and fostering more inclusive communities. By supporting this initiative, the bank played a vital role in creating a space where children could unleash their creativity, share their abilities, and acquire essential life skills through artistic endeavors.
“Every child deserves a chance to realize their potential, hone their talents, and grow self-assured. Supporting projects that encourage creativity, cultural understanding, and community spirit is crucial for building an inclusive future for Sri Lanka. HNB is proud to partner with SOS Children’s Villages in backing an initiative that allows children to express themselves, gain vital life skills, and aspire to a brighter future,” stated Sanjay Wijemanne, Chief Operating Officer of HNB.
SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka has been providing a nurturing, family-like setting for children for the past 45 years. The organization currently manages six Children’s Villages, caring for over 650 children, and also supports more than 4,500 children at risk of losing parental care through its Direct Family Strengthening Programs.
“Investing in children is tantamount to investing in the future of Sri Lanka. It is our shared responsibility as a nation to create opportunities for them to grow with confidence, creativity, and dignity. We sincerely thank HNB for supporting our Cultural Evening, which allowed children to showcase their talents and cultural heritage. Collaborations like this highlight the significant impact that can result from partnerships between the corporate sector and community organizations, united in the goal of fostering a brighter future for every child,” remarked Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.
The Cultural Evening united children, families, communities, and supporters in a vibrant celebration of talent and cultural heritage. This event emphasized the critical need to provide opportunities for the youth of Sri Lanka to explore their potential, celebrate their cultural identities, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s future.
