Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has recently arrived in Sri Lanka. Her visit is scheduled from February 16 to 18, 2026, as confirmed by a senior IMF official.
During her stay, Georgieva is set to engage with government officials and key stakeholders to discuss the ongoing recovery efforts in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. Her agenda includes observing the cyclone’s impact firsthand and exploring ways in which the IMF can aid in recovery initiatives, ultimately contributing to a more resilient future for the people of Sri Lanka.
