The computer system at the Department of Immigration and Emigration has been fully restored, allowing passport services at both the main office in Battaramulla and regional offices to return to normal operations, according to an announcement from the department.
Mahesh Karunadasa, the Department’s Deputy Controller and Media Spokesperson, stated that operations, which were temporarily suspended due to a technical issue, have now resumed as usual.
He confirmed that the issuance of both regular and one-day service passports, as well as visas, is proceeding normally. Urgent and essential requests are already being processed at all regional branches.
