Javelin Champion Rumesh Tharanga Appointed Brand Ambassador for Access Real Estate and Access Solar

Access Solar and Access Real Estate have proudly appointed renowned javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga as their corporate brand ambassador through a sponsorship agreement that will extend until the 2028 Olympic Games.

This collaboration was initiated at the request of Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. The partnership aims to provide essential financial and logistical support for both Tharanga and his coach, fostering a stronger presence for Sri Lankan sports on the international stage while highlighting the crucial role of corporate sponsorship in athletic success.

In 2025, Tharanga made history by becoming the first Sri Lankan male javelin thrower to compete in the finals at the World Athletics Championships. With aspirations aimed at achieving international success, Tharanga expressed, “My ultimate goal is the 2028 Olympic Games. Prior to that, I will concentrate on the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.”

As part of the Access Group of Companies, both Access Real Estate, a leading property developer, and Access Solar, a company specializing in renewable energy, consider this partnership a vital component of their ongoing commitment to the advancement of national sports. They emphasize the importance of sustained corporate investment in empowering local athletes to prepare, compete, and excel in major global competitions.
