Janashakthi Group (JXG) recently commemorated the graduation of its first cohort, Spartans I, from the JXG Management Trainee Programme during an event held at the Hilton Colombo Residences.
This ceremony celebrated the conclusion of an 18-month developmental process for the Management Trainees, who have now embarked on new career paths within JXG and its various subsidiaries, such as First Capital, Janashakthi Life, and Janashakthi Finance. The program aims to provide young professionals with extensive exposure within the organization, helping them to enhance their business acumen, gain valuable experience, and establish meaningful connections while preparing them for increased responsibilities.
The event centered around the theme ‘Beginning to Becoming,’ which reflected on the experiences, development, and transformation of the Spartans I group. Graduates shared insights from their time in the program, followed by a segment dedicated to “Honouring Excellence,” which celebrated their accomplishments during the course of the program.
In his keynote address, Ramesh Schaffter, the Managing Director and Group CEO of JXG, highlighted that graduation signifies not an end but the start of a broader professional journey. He urged the graduates to leverage their experiences into a deeper understanding of business, embrace ownership, commit to lifelong learning, foster strong relationships, innovate, and continue their personal and professional development within the organization.
“The Spartans initiative was developed to provide young talent with the chance to learn, develop, and establish significant careers within JXG. Over the past 18 months, our inaugural cohort has acquired invaluable experience across the Group and evolved into self-assured young professionals. Their journey embodies our mission of ‘Breaking Barriers, Forging Futures.’ As they progress in their careers, we anticipate witnessing their continued growth and meaningful contributions to JXG,” stated Wasanthi Stephen, Group Chief Human Resources Officer of JXG.
This ceremony represented a key milestone in JXG’s dedication to cultivating a talent pipeline that is prepared for the future. By focusing on exposure, learning, and opportunities, the Group remains committed to fostering an environment where young professionals can thrive, embrace new challenges, and contribute to a bold, inclusive, and remarkable future.
