FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Laugfs Power, an energy company in Sri Lanka, has successfully completed the commissioning and integration of its 2MW mini hydroelectric power facility located in Polpitiya, Ginigathhena, as reported on March 26. The National System Operator officially recognized the project on April 29.
The development and execution of this initiative were carried out by PAMS Power (Private) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Laugfs Power. The facility is anticipated to generate renewable energy that will contribute to the national electricity grid.
Following this announcement, shares of Laugfs Power saw an increase of 1.72 percent, rising to Rs. 11.80. (Colombo/May11/2026)
