Lina Manufacturing, the pharmaceutical manufacturing arm of Sunshine Holdings PLC, recently participated as the Diamond Sponsor at RESPIRE 2026, the annual academic sessions of the Sri Lanka College of Pulmonologists, held at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.

With this year’s theme as “Breathing New Life: Resilience, Innovation, and Equity in Respiratory Care”, the event commenced with a grand inauguration on 15 February 2026 and continued on 16 and 17 February, featuring a comprehensive academic programme with distinguished foreign speakers and over 300 participants, including members of Sri Lanka’s respiratory medicine fraternity and industry partners.

As Sri Lanka’s pioneer local manufacturer of respiratory medicines, Lina Manufacturing views this collaboration with the College as a meaningful opportunity to contribute towards uplifting the respiratory medicine segment in the country and strengthening the exchange of knowledge and best practices among clinicians and stakeholders.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Lina Manufacturing Chief Executive Officer, Dr. T. Sayanthan said, “RESPIRE continues to play an important role in supporting the growth of respiratory medicine in Sri Lanka by bringing together expertise, evidence, and practical learning. As a local manufacturer committed to respiratory care, we are pleased to support this initiative and the College’s ongoing efforts to strengthen clinical capability and improve patient outcomes.”

The three-day congress featured an array of workshops, guest lectures, panel discussions, and hands-on training sessions, covering key topics such as non-invasive ventilation, thoracic procedures, pulmonary infections, sleep medicine, and critical care. The event also fostered networking opportunities, enabling cross-border collaborations that can drive further advancements in respiratory medicine.
