FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – This week, Maharaja Foods PLC launched its latest retail store, named Maharaja Super – SPAR Savemore, in Kotahena, in collaboration with SPAR Sri Lanka Pvt Ltd.
In September of the previous year, the two entities formalized an agreement to open four new retail locations within the Colombo area.
According to a disclosure made by the company to the stock exchange, “This outlet represents a notable advancement in our retail growth strategy and is the second store we have launched in partnership with SPAR Sri Lanka (Private) Limited.”
Maharaja Foods emphasized its commitment to enhancing its retail operations and providing high-quality ethnic products at competitive prices, all while ensuring a superior shopping experience for customers.
To support this venture, Maharaja Foods successfully raised 112.5 million rupees through a rights issue, offering 12.5 million ordinary voting shares at a price of 9 rupees per share. (Colombo/Jun3/2026)
