Market Turnover Surpasses Rs. 4 Billion Amid Modest Index Gains

On Wednesday, Sri Lanka’s stock market experienced a modest uptick, with both major indices closing the day on a positive note amid moderate trading activity at the Colombo Stock Exchange. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) increased by 12.48 points, concluding at 23,703.10, while the S&P SL20 Index rose by 4.15 points to finish at 6,685.27.

The session’s total market turnover reached Rs. 4.02 billion. Domestic investors were predominantly active, with local purchases totaling Rs. 3.97 billion against local sales of Rs. 3.90 billion. Conversely, foreign investor activity was limited, with foreign purchases amounting to Rs. 48 million and foreign sales at Rs. 114 million, leading to a net foreign outflow.
