Rise above political divides and act with urgency, unity and compassion!

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, I urge administrators across Sri Lanka to put aside party differences and work together to alleviate the suffering of our people. The recent devastation has caused immense hardship, displacement, and loss, affecting not only locals but also tourists who had chosen our beautiful island as their destination.

I appeal to all stakeholders, including government officials, opposition leaders, and community leaders, to join forces and prioritize relief efforts. Let us focus on providing essential support – food, shelter, medical aid, and clean water – to those affected.

As a fellow son of the soil, I am certain we will get through this challenging time together. Our resilience and solidarity are the pillars of our nation’s strength.

To our international friends and partners, we appreciate your expressions of support and assistance. Your help is invaluable in our recovery efforts.

Let us unite in this moment of need and work towards rebuilding our communities, restoring infrastructure, and revitalizing our economy.

Together, we can overcome the impact of Cyclone Ditwah and emerge stronger.

God bless you all
