The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the contract award to Millennium IT ESP (Private) Limited for the supply and installation of an Oracle Exadata X11M system, along with its related software, for Sri Lanka Customs.
This approval was based on a proposal submitted by the President, acting in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. Initially, the Cabinet had granted approval on August 21, 2024, to commence the procurement process for selecting a suitable agency to provide the Oracle Exadata X11M system and its associated software for Sri Lanka Customs.
Following this, bids were solicited under the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) methodology, resulting in three submissions. Upon completion of the technical evaluation process, only one bidder met the necessary technological requirements. Subsequently, after assessing the financial proposal of the technically qualified bidder, the Cabinet of Ministers endorsed the contract award to Millennium IT ESP (Private) Limited.
The procurement is valued at Rs. 2,197.96 million and will be executed over a period of eight years, in alignment with the recommendations of the Higher Level Procurement Committee.
