The Falcon E Racing team from the University of Moratuwa, recognized as Sri Lanka’s first electric Formula Student racing team, is preparing to participate in Formula Student Spain 2026, a prestigious global motorsport competition for students. A group of 32 students accompanied by two faculty members has traveled to Spain to represent their country at this event.

Taking place at the renowned Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Formula Student Spain is one of the top events in the internationally acclaimed Formula Student series. Since its founding in 2017, Falcon E Racing has been at the forefront of engineering innovation in Sri Lanka. The team has reached significant achievements, such as qualifying among the elite teams at Formula Student Germany in 2019, earning second place in the virtual Formula Student Bharat event in 2022, revealing Sri Lanka’s first electric Formula Student race car in 2023, finishing in the top ten at Formula Bharat 2024, and launching the next-generation race car, Falcon E2, in 2025.
Competing in Formula Student Spain 2026 represents another significant chapter in Falcon E Racing’s journey as they join leading engineering institutions worldwide.
As the Official Logistics Partner, Advantis is overseeing all aspects of the transportation process for Falcon E Racing’s race car and its associated equipment. This comprehensive operation includes shipment planning, cargo preparation, specialized handling, export and import documentation, customs clearance, and coordination with international logistics partners for delivery to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, along with the return logistics to Sri Lanka after the event.
