Sri Lanka’s cabinet has sanctioned a proposal to grant a contract valued at 4.93 million euros to Muhlbauer ID Services GmbH, a company based in Germany, for the procurement of 5 million pre-printed polycarbonate cards, as announced by Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.
These polycarbonate cards are intended for the issuance of National Identity Cards in Sri Lanka. The procurement process was conducted through an International Competitive Procurement Procedure, which attracted a total of eight bids, according to Jayatissa.
He noted that Muhlbauer emerged as the most responsive bidder among the submissions received. (Colombo/Sep22/2026)
