Pepsi Street Kala 2.0 Celebrates Sri Lankan Culture Through Art, Music, and Culinary Delights, Bringing Communities Together in a Vibrant Festival

Pepsi Street Kala made its highly anticipated return for a second year on July 4, 2026, at Excel World in Colombo, transforming the venue into a vibrant celebration of Sri Lankan culture featuring art, music, and gastronomy.

Hosted by Pepsi®, this public art initiative attracted a large crowd, bringing together thousands of individuals who share a passion for creativity and community. By tapping into the interests of young Sri Lankans, Pepsi® is reaffirming its commitment to being more than just a global brand; it aims to be a partner deeply connected to local identity.

“At Pepsi®, we have always valued the importance of celebrating the passions that unite people. Pepsi Street Kala embodies this ethos. With its second edition, it continues to grow as a dynamic platform that promotes local creativity, strengthens community ties, and honors the vibrant spirit of Sri Lanka,” stated Anshuman Mishra, West & Sri Lanka Franchise Lead and Associate Director at PepsiCo.

The festival featured a prominent Art Exhibition in partnership with the Academy of Design (AOD), showcasing the work of emerging local artists who provided their unique takes on Pepsi-themed art. This collaboration offered fresh talent an opportunity to gain exposure while linking a globally recognized brand to Sri Lanka’s flourishing art community. Additionally, an interactive wall invited festival-goers to express their creativity by contributing to a communal canvas that developed throughout the day.

The entertainment lineup included performances from some of Sri Lanka’s most beloved musicians, such as the band Knights, along with Wasthi, Nilan Hettiarachchi, Raveen Tharuka, Dinesh and Kaizer, and Hana Shafa. Their performances infused the festival with the lively energy and diversity characteristic of Sri Lankan music.

Attendees also had the chance to partake in exciting games and savor local delicacies from various food stalls, with the flavors enhanced by refreshing ice-cold Pepsi®. A specialized mocktail bar offered delightful Pepsi® mocktails, ensuring a fun and engaging atmosphere for all participants, particularly the youth.

“What started as an open-air art gallery has evolved into a broader celebration of Sri Lankan creativity, uniting emerging artists, live music, delicious food, and interactive experiences for everyone to enjoy,” remarked Amit Joshi, Country Head of Varun Beverages (VBL).

In its efforts to strengthen community connections, Pepsi® ensured that attendees felt appreciated and acknowledged, allowing them to immerse themselves in the celebrations while recognizing the meaningful engagement the brand has fostered with local culture.
