The unveiling took place at Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo. With the introduction of the five-seater Traz SUV and the seven-seater Alza MPV, Perodua is expanding its offerings in Sri Lanka, presenting two practical and fuel-efficient vehicles tailored for families and businesses.

Perodua, a Malaysian automotive manufacturer, reported 359,904 vehicle registrations in Malaysia for the year 2025, claiming a domestic market share of 43.9%. The Perodua Traz enhances the brand’s footprint in the growing compact SUV segment. Featuring a modern design and a roomy five-seat interior, the Traz is crafted for urban commuting, family outings, and the everyday demands of life. Notable convenience features include rear air-conditioning vents and a powered tailgate equipped with a kick sensor. Its 1.5-litre engine is designed for a balance of responsive performance and fuel efficiency.
According to Perodua, the Traz achieves a fuel efficiency of 21.3 km/l under Malaysian driving conditions and has received a five-star rating from ASEAN NCAP. The safety features noted in the ASEAN NCAP report include six airbags, vehicle stability control, autonomous emergency braking for various scenarios, blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, all standard across evaluated variants.
The Perodua Alza, a flexible seven-seater MPV, caters to those seeking ample passenger capacity without compromising maneuverability or efficiency. Its adaptable seating configuration allows for adjustments between passenger space and luggage capacity, making it ideal for larger families, school and office commutes, leisure trips, and business use. With the third row of seats folded down, cargo space can increase from 137 litres to 498 litres, providing added versatility for both daily and long-distance journeys.
Equipped with a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine and a D-CVT transmission, the Alza boasts a manufacturer-claimed fuel efficiency of up to 22.0 km/l under Malaysian driving conditions. It also carries a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating. The model includes features such as six airbags, vehicle stability control, anti-lock braking, autonomous emergency braking, and reminders for front and rear seatbelts, offering peace of mind for families prioritizing safety.
