Record 223,000 Tourists Arrive in 2026

As of 2026, Sri Lanka has welcomed a total of 223,645 tourists, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The data highlights that India is the leading source of visitors, contributing 41,603 tourists, which represents 19.0% of the total arrivals.

The United Kingdom follows with 23,329 visitors, while Russia accounts for 22,876 arrivals. Additionally, 14,431 tourists have come from Germany, and 10,746 from France have also chosen Sri Lanka as their destination this year.

In contrast, January 2025 saw a total of 252,761 tourist arrivals, marking a significant influx during that period. Furthermore, last year, Sri Lanka recorded a remarkable 2,362,521 foreign national visits, as reported by the SLTDA.
