Seylan Bank has recently reinforced its commitment to supporting the nation’s small and medium enterprises (SME) sector by hosting its second SME Program in the North Central Region. This event took place at Hotel Mahanuge in Polonnaruwa and is part of a series of developmental forums designed to enhance financial literacy among SME owners in the area. The initiative aims to equip them with practical knowledge needed to manage and expand their operations effectively.

The program, organized and managed by Seylan Bank, was tailored to meet the specific needs of the region. It featured a comprehensive seminar on financial and tax management, offering clear guidance on managing business finances, ensuring compliance, and planning for sustainable growth. The session also addressed strategies for entrepreneurs to elevate their business growth, considering their unique circumstances.

Asiri Abhayaratne, Seylan Bank’s Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Sales, commented on the initiative, stating, “Developing financially informed entrepreneurs is the key to strengthening the SME sector and supporting regional business development. As the Bank with a Heart, we will continue to deliver similar knowledge-based platforms for SMEs across the country.”

Seylan Bank, in collaboration with various organizations committed to advancing the SME sector, has been conducting several similar events throughout Sri Lanka. These SME-focused capacity-building programs are designed to empower business owners by providing access to essential information, financial tools, and advisory support necessary for ensuring long-term business stability.
