Sierra Cables PLC Strengthens Market Leadership with FY2025/26 Revenue Exceeding LKR 16 Billion and Profit Soaring by 194%

Sierra Cables PLC, a prominent cable manufacturer in Sri Lanka and part of the LOLC Group, has achieved an exceptional financial performance for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2026. The company reported substantial growth in both revenue and profit, solidifying its presence in international markets while also expanding its domestic distribution network.

For the fiscal year, Sierra Cables recorded a revenue of LKR 16 billion, marking a remarkable increase of 73% compared to the prior year. The net profit surged to LKR 2.7 billion, reflecting an impressive year-on-year growth of 194%. Additionally, the profit from operations surpassed LKR 3 billion, with a growth rate exceeding 119% from the previous financial year. The earnings per share (EPS) rose to LKR 4.95, a substantial increase from LKR 1.68 in the last financial year, highlighting the company’s robust operational efficiency and increased value for shareholders.

This outstanding performance was fueled by strong demand across key market segments, enhanced manufacturing efficiencies, increased capacity utilization, a rise in export contributions, and ongoing investments in product innovation and quality improvement.

The latest financial results build upon the progress made in the fiscal year 2024/25, during which the company achieved revenues of LKR 9.26 billion and a profit after tax of LKR 903 million, both representing record levels at that time. The results for FY2025/26 have significantly surpassed these previous figures, demonstrating the effectiveness of the company’s long-term growth strategy and reinforcing its status as one of Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturing firms.

Sierra Cables’ remarkable achievements can be attributed to its clear strategic direction, effective leadership, and successful transformations. Under the guidance of Executive Director and CEO Mr. Harsha Jayatunga, along with Chairman Mr. Ishara Nanayakkara, the company has enhanced its operational capabilities and broadened its international footprint, improving its competitive edge.

Since transitioning to an associate of Browns Investments in 2022 and subsequently becoming a subsidiary in 2025, Sierra Cables has benefited from improved governance, strategic investments, and a targeted growth approach. These efforts have led to a significant financial recovery, establishing the company as a notable success story in Sri Lanka’s manufacturing sector. Since its association with Browns Investments, the operating profit has surged by 186%, from LKR 1.1 billion to LKR 3.0 billion as of March 31, 2026, while profit after tax has increased by 464%, from LKR 472 million to LKR 2.7 billion during the same timeframe, showcasing the effectiveness of disciplined execution and improved governance.

A significant factor contributing to the company’s growth has been the rising demand for high-performance cable solutions that meet enhanced fire safety standards. As safety regulations tighten in various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments, Sierra Cables has strengthened its range of fire-resistant and fire-retardant cables, which are designed for superior performance in critical scenarios. These products are increasingly favored by engineers, contractors, and developers who require compliance with international standards for modern construction projects.

The company also celebrated a pivotal achievement in its export operations, particularly with its ongoing expansion into the U.S. market. In the global manufacturing arena, establishing trust is essential, and Sierra Cables holds a unique position within Sri Lanka’s cable manufacturing sector. It is the only Sri Lankan cable producer to possess both UL 44 and UL 854 certifications, internationally recognized standards that affirm the safety, quality, and reliability of its products.

These prestigious certifications confirm that Sierra Cables’ offerings meet the rigorous standards of highly regulated international markets, allowing the company to be the sole Sri Lankan cable manufacturer supplying the highly discerning U.S. market, known for its stringent quality requirements. This achievement significantly enhances Sierra Cables’ competitive stature among South Asian cable manufacturers and bolsters its position in international markets, contributing positively to Sri Lanka’s export revenues. The expansion into the U.S. is part of a larger strategy to diversify revenue streams and strengthen foreign exchange earnings while increasing the company’s presence in high-value export regions.

Export revenue soared by 345% year-on-year, climbing from LKR 1.1 billion to LKR 5.0 billion in FY2025/26, with exports constituting 31% of total group revenue. This growth reflects Sierra Cables’ enhanced international reach and the global acceptance of its certified product offerings. The company is also extending its global operations into Zambia and Fiji, drawing on the expertise of its associate company, T & G Lanka Pvt Ltd, which specializes in electrical and fiber-optic cable systems, thereby bolstering the group’s overall capabilities and market presence.

Domestically, Sierra Cables has continued to fortify its market leadership by expanding its dealer and distribution network throughout Sri Lanka. The company has increased its market presence through strategic partnerships with dealers, enhanced channel engagement initiatives, and improved customer service support, ensuring broader product availability across urban and regional markets.

The enlarged dealer network has been crucial in driving sales growth, enabling Sierra Cables to maintain close relationships with customers and respond more effectively to changing market demands. With a reputation for uncompromising quality, reliability, and excellent service, Sierra Cables is strengthening its status as the preferred choice among contractors, developers, consultants, and end-users nationwide.

In a statement regarding the company’s performance, Executive Director and CEO Mr. Harsha Jayatunga expressed that Sierra Cables is committed to achieving sustainable growth through innovation, excellence in quality, operational efficiency, and market expansion. He emphasized that the company is continually investing in advanced manufacturing capabilities, internationally certified products, and strategic initiatives aimed at solidifying its leadership in Sri Lanka while enhancing its presence in global markets.

With strong financial fundamentals, internationally certified products, an expanding export footprint, and a growing national distribution network, Sierra Cables is well-positioned to seize emerging opportunities as it enters FY2026/27, further elevating Sri Lankan manufacturing on the global stage.
