Six months prior, Parker Harris, co-founder of Salesforce, made an intriguing forecast: “You may never log in to Salesforce again.” This concept has evolved into what is now known as Slackforce, a conversational interface powered by AI that integrates directly into the workflow within Slack.
Salesforce has now unveiled Slackforce Surfaces, a feature that allows teams to convert data from Salesforce and other sources into engaging and interactive experiences within Slack, visualized in a multitude of creative ways.
This new functionality bridges the gap between possessing information and utilizing it collaboratively. Decisions are often made through dialogue, while relevant context is scattered across messages, data, and interconnected systems. With Slackforce Surfaces, users can effortlessly transform that context into a dynamic, interactive interface simply by querying Slackbot.
A Surface maintains a continuous connection to the underlying data, refreshing automatically as changes occur. Slackbot can generate dashboards, reports, executive presentations, or interactive experiences based on real-time data. Teams can pose follow-up inquiries about their live data whenever necessary.
The Surface draws information directly from Salesforce, Slack history, and other enterprise data sources, all while upholding existing permission settings. Teams have the ability to filter, explore, comment, delve into records and messages, and collaborate in real time. By pinning a Surface to a channel, it becomes an integral part of the workspace.
The process begins with a straightforward prompt. Slackbot can identify the most suitable format, whether that be an interactive dashboard, an executive presentation, a microsite, a calculator, or an entirely new concept, and tailor it to fit the audience and specific purpose.
Slackforce Surfaces is currently available for users on Enterprise+, Business+, Pro, Legacy, and Free Teams with Slackbot activated. The rollout of the live data feature is set to commence in October.
This innovative approach transforms conversations into opportunities for teams to comprehend and act on information collectively. It is designed to consolidate context, data, and action within a single platform.
