SLIM Introduces a Transformative Leadership Vision at 2026 Annual General Meeting

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the nation’s foremost marketing authority, successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2026 on April 8, 2026, at the prestigious Galle Face Hotel. This AGM represented a pivotal moment in the Institute’s evolution, with the formal appointment of a new Council of Management and Executive Committee to guide SLIM into its next growth phase. Following a transformative year in 2025, the AGM showcased both continuity and renewal, as a distinguished cadre of marketing professionals took on leadership positions for the 2026/27 term. The event gathered SLIM members, industry leaders, and stakeholders, reinforcing the Institute’s dedication to promoting the marketing profession in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Enoch Perera has been appointed as the new President of the Council of Management. With a wealth of experience in international business, he currently holds the position of Assistant General Manager Marketing – International Business at PGP Glass Ceylon PLC. Supporting him in significant roles are Mr. Manthika Ranasinghe, who will serve as Vice President – Education and Research, and Mr. Rajiv David, taking on the role of Vice President – Events & Sustainability. Both individuals bring considerable industry expertise and strategic acumen to their positions.

The Council is further enhanced by the inclusion of Mr. Asanka Perera and Mr. Nuwan Thilakawardhana as Joint Honorary Secretaries, Ms. Kaushala Amarasekara as Honorary Treasurer, and Dr. Rasanjalee Abeywickrama as Honorary Assistant Secretary. Moreover, SLIM unveiled its Executive Committee for the 2026/27 term, composed of a vibrant group of professionals from various sectors within the marketing industry. This committee features Mr. Channa Jayasinghe, Mr. Vijitha Govinna, Mr. Anuk De Silva, Mr. Sirimevan Senevirathne, Mr. Tharindu Karunarathne, Mr. Damith Jayawardana, Mr. Charitha Dias, Mr. Damith Pathiraja, Ms. Roshani Fernando, and Mr. Maduranga Weeratunga.

In his inaugural address as President, Mr. Enoch Perera highlighted the necessity of leveraging SLIM’s recent achievements while seizing new opportunities in an ever-changing marketing environment. He stated, “SLIM stands today at a powerful intersection of transformation and opportunity. As we build upon the remarkable progress made in recent years, our emphasis will be on enhancing professional standards, broadening global engagement, and ensuring that Sri Lanka’s marketing community is well-equipped to compete on an international level.”
