SLT-MOBITEL Enterprise has forged a significant Reseller Partnership Agreement with Starlink, a subsidiary of SpaceX, aimed at enhancing connectivity for enterprises and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Sri Lanka. This partnership was officially established during a recent online signing event.
Starlink operates a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite network that provides high-speed, low-latency internet access to virtually any location. This is particularly advantageous for businesses located in remote, rural, or otherwise challenging geographical areas where conventional internet services are limited or unavailable. The technology ensures reliable and swift connectivity, even in the most difficult environments.
Through this agreement, SLT-MOBITEL can now directly supply Starlink’s advanced satellite internet services to enterprise and SME clients across the nation.
This collaboration allows businesses and SMEs to maintain seamless operations with satellite-based redundancy, significantly minimizing downtime during emergencies or network failures, thus safeguarding both revenue and operational continuity. The quick deployment capabilities of Starlink, which require minimal infrastructure, enable fast activation in remote or temporary sites. Additionally, the high-performance standards cater to mission-critical functions, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, maritime and mobile solutions, as well as field operations that rely on consistent, high-quality connectivity.
During the signing ceremony, Lakmal Jayasinghe, Chief Business Officer for Enterprise Business at SLT-MOBITEL, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the agreement, stating, “This partnership marks a new era in providing high-performance digital solutions for Sri Lanka’s digital landscape. By merging Starlink’s innovative satellite technology with SLT-MOBITEL’s reliable services, we are equipping enterprises and SMEs with unmatched connectivity. This agreement also underscores our dedication to fostering national digital inclusion, ensuring business continuity, and developing future-ready infrastructure, all of which are essential for Sri Lankan businesses to succeed in a digital economy.”
