Sri Lanka and Belarus Prepare to Finalize Multiple Agreements During Foreign Minister’s Visit

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka is set to finalize a series of memoranda of understanding and agreements with Belarus during the visit of Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath to the Eastern European nation.

Herath’s trip to Belarus, which takes place from May 12 to 15, comes at the invitation of Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, as stated by the ministry.

During his visit, Herath plans to meet with President Alexander Lukashenko and engage in bilateral talks with the Belarusian Foreign Minister. Additionally, he will hold discussions with the Ministers of Education and Health.

As part of his itinerary, Herath is expected to speak at a business and tourism roundtable hosted by the National Export Centre of Belarus in Minsk and will also connect with Sri Lankan students currently pursuing their studies in Belarus.

Last year, the two nations marked the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
