Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers has approved the submission of a bill to parliament to amend the Social Security Contribution Levy Act, No. 25 of 2022, according to Minister Nalinda Jayatissa. The bill, prepared by the Legal Draftsman, aligns with a proposal from the 2026 budget. Minister Jayatissa declined to comment on whether the levy would be increased or decreased.
“The clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the said bill,” the minister confirmed. Following its publication in the government gazette, the bill will be submitted to parliament for approval.
