Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted at 309.70/80 against the US dollar on Friday morning, showing a slight depreciation from 309.65/75 in the spot market, according to dealers. Despite an increase in bill yields during the last auction, bond yields experienced a decline.

Bill yields adjusted upwards last week following the announcement of a higher volume of bills than those maturing. A bond maturing on March 15, 2028, was quoted at approximately 9.06/11 percent, down from 9.10/18 percent.

Additionally, a bond maturing on September 15, 2029, was quoted at 9.60/65 percent, a decrease from 9.70/80 percent. A bond maturing on July 1, 2030, saw quotes around 9.75/80 percent, down from 9.90/95 percent.
