The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) are assisting Sri Lanka in creating a financial mechanism aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by disasters.

“Last week, UNDP and UNCDF conducted a joint technical mission to Sri Lanka to aid the government in developing a crisis-responsive financial mechanism. This initiative seeks to ensure that recovery financing is delivered to disaster-affected MSMEs in a timely, scalable, and fiscally responsible manner,” stated UNDP in Sri Lanka.

Key government stakeholders participated in the session to promote coordinated efforts toward strengthening resilience and fostering inclusive economic recovery.
