Sri Lanka Experiences Decline in Treasury Bill Yields as Rs140 Billion is Issued

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – In the latest auction conducted by Sri Lanka’s Treasury, yields for shorter-term Treasury bills experienced a decline. The auction successfully sold the entire 140 billion rupees worth of bills, according to the Public Debt Management Office’s report.

The yield for the 3-month bill fell by 18 basis points, settling at 9.95 percent. In this category, 60 billion rupees were made available, and 61.54 billion rupees were successfully sold.

Similarly, the yield for the 6-month bill decreased by 3 basis points, reaching 10.24 percent. This segment had 50 billion rupees offered, with sales amounting to 60.08 billion rupees.

In contrast, the yield for the 12-month bill remained stable at 10.20 percent, with 30 billion rupees offered. However, only 18.36 billion rupees were sold in this category.

All three types of bills remain accessible for purchase.
