FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Sri Lanka Expo 2026, which was initially planned for this year, has been rescheduled to take place from January 14 to 17, 2027. This change was announced by the Export Development Board (EDB) and is attributed to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties that are impacting global trade and travel.
The purpose of this international trade exhibition is to highlight Sri Lanka’s export potential and investment opportunities to an international audience.
According to the EDB, “Sri Lanka Expo 2027 aims to present the country’s varied export sectors to global markets while establishing a strategic platform for collaboration among business leaders, investors, and policymakers.”
The exhibition is designed to enhance confidence among buyers and investors regarding Sri Lanka’s capabilities, positioning the country as a prominent trade and investment center in South Asia. This initiative also supports the national goal of achieving USD 36 billion in exports by 2030.
Approximately 750 local exporters and around 1,500 international attendees, including buyers, investors, and members of the media, are anticipated to participate in the event.
Both domestic exhibitors and foreign buyers can register via the official website at www.srilankaexpo.lk. The registration period for exhibitors has been extended until July 31, 2026, allowing additional participants to join.
