This event will highlight the wide range of Sri Lanka’s export industries, encompassing agriculture, industrial production, export services, innovation, and tourism.
The unveiling ceremony for the aircraft took place in the presence of several dignitaries, including EDB Chairman and CEO Mr. Mangala Wijesinghe, Director General Mr. Erandika Dissanayake, Director of Export Services and Project Lead for Sri Lanka Expo 2027 Ms. Indumini Kodikara, Consultant Coordinator Ms. Anoma Premathilake, along with various officials from Sri Lankan Airlines.
Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, the “Sri Lanka Expo 2027” is scheduled to take place from January 14 to 17, 2027, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo. This significant exhibition aims to establish Sri Lanka as a central hub for trade and investment in the South Asian region.
The expo is expected to feature over 750 leading exhibitors and attract more than 1,500 international buyers and investors. Alongside the main exhibition, attendees can look forward to multiple high-level forums, including a specialized Investment Forum, industry-specific discussions, and organized B2B matchmaking opportunities. To further enrich the experience of Sri Lanka’s vibrant economy and culture, the event will also include fashion shows, culinary exhibitions, and various cultural performances.
The Airbus A321 Neo, with its new branding, will operate in key markets for Sri Lankan Airlines, including India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Maldives, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Thailand. It will serve as a flying ambassador for the “Sri Lanka Expo 2027” brand, reaching travelers and business communities in these regions.
In addition, Sri Lankan Airlines plans to extend discounted airfare options to foreign buyers and investors attending the expo, offering reductions of up to 20% for economy class and 10% for business class tickets.
