The committee on high posts in the Sri Lankan Parliament has officially approved the appointments of 12 new envoys. This decision was reached to enhance Sri Lanka’s diplomatic representation across various nations and international organizations.
The approved appointments are as follows:
Dharshana M Perera has been designated as the High Commissioner to Malaysia. Dhammika Fernando will serve as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya. D M S P Dassanayake has been appointed as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva.
Dayani Mendis is appointed as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Austria. N I D Paranavitana will represent Sri Lanka as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Ethiopia and the African Union. M I Fazeeha Azmi has been designated as the Ambassador to Iran. S K Chandrasiri will serve as the Ambassador to Israel.
Further appointments include Anura Withanage as the Ambassador to Lebanon, S P W Pathirana as the Ambassador to Romania, and M Farook M Fawzer as the Representative to Palestine.
