FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka state-run and private bus fares will go up by an average of 12.19 percent following the latest hike in fuel prices, effective from midnight March 24, announced Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.
As per the revision, the minimum bus fare has been increased from 27 rupees to 30 rupees, while the maximum fare has risen from 2,159 rupees to 2,422 rupees.
This fare hike is part of the recent price adjustments in the transport sector.
Sri Lanka has raised fuel prices on three occasions this month: on the 1st, 9th, and 22nd.
