FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka has successfully issued treasury bills worth 5 billion rupees, with average interest rates of 7.94%, 8.14%, and 8.45%, as reported by the public debt management office. This brings the total treasury bills sold during the previous week to 35 billion rupees.
The debt management office noted that it sold 3-month treasury bills at an interest rate of 7.94%. Additionally, 6-month bills were sold at 8.14%, while the 12-month bills had an interest rate of 8.45%. The overall market subscription for these bills amounted to 6.05 billion rupees.
On April 8, the debt management office successfully raised 30 billion rupees through the issuance of 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month treasury bills. The settlement date for this issuance is set for April 10, 2026. (Colombo/Apr10/2026)
