Sri Lanka Offloads Additional Rs14 Billion in Treasury Bills Following Auction Success

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka has successfully issued treasury bills amounting to 14 billion rupees, with average yields recorded at 9.44%, 9.78%, and 10.01%, according to the public debt management office. This latest sale increases the total treasury bills sold during the week to 154 billion rupees.

The overall market subscription for the bills reached 142.45 billion rupees. The debt office issued a 3-month treasury bill at an interest rate of 9.44%, a 6-month bill at 9.78%, and a 12-month bill at 10.01%. On Wednesday, August 12, the debt office had already raised 140 billion rupees through the sale of these 3, 6, and 12-month bills.

Subsequently, all three types of bills were made available for additional purchase. (Colombo/August 14, 2026)
