Sri Lanka records highest-ever tourist arrivals within a year in 2025

As of December 29, 2025, Sri Lanka has officially recorded its highest number of tourist arrivals within a calendar year, reaching a total of 2,333,797 visitors. This new milestone was achieved with the arrival of an Indian tourist from Thiruvananthapuram, who traveled on a SriLankan Airlines flight.

This figure surpasses the previous record of 2,333,796 tourists, which was set in 2018 and had remained the highest annual tourist arrival figure in the country’s history.
