GoodWe has been recognized as the leading rooftop solar storage brand in Sri Lanka. The company, a prominent global manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) inverters and smart energy solutions, partnered with the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) to successfully conduct the Solar + Storage Forum 2026 at Marino Beach in Colombo. This event attracted more than 400 participants from the renewable energy sector in Sri Lanka, indicating significant interest in GoodWe’s storage offerings as the nation progresses towards increased adoption of solar and battery energy technologies.
Notable attendees at the forum included Hon. Anura Karunathilaka, the Minister of Energy; Mr. G.M.R.D. Aponsu, Secretary to the Ministry of Energy; and Prof. Wijendra J. Bandara, Chairman of SLSEA, along with various senior government officials and industry stakeholders.
During the event, Hon. Anura Karunathilaka emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, industry, and technology leaders in achieving a sustainable energy future for Sri Lanka. He stated, “The transition to clean energy in Sri Lanka is reliant on strong partnerships that drive innovation, attract investments, and expedite the implementation of renewable energy solutions.”
Mr. G.M.R.D. Aponsu echoed these sentiments, highlighting that as Sri Lanka increases its renewable energy output, energy storage technologies and grid modernization will be crucial for maintaining a stable energy supply.
Central to Sri Lanka’s energy strategy is the integration of solar and storage solutions. Historically, the country has depended on hydro, thermal, and imported fuels for energy, which has made it vulnerable to price fluctuations and supply interruptions. As Sri Lanka shifts towards solar and wind energy, effective storage solutions are vital for ensuring a consistent energy supply throughout the day.
Sri Lanka aims to generate 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with the ultimate goal of achieving a carbon-neutral power sector by 2050. GoodWe organized the Solar + Storage Forum 2026 to connect stakeholders involved in this energy transition, including government officials, industry representatives, and technology providers.
The forum featured discussions on various topics, including China’s export tax policy and its implications for PV and battery pricing, a panel on the future of energy storage in Sri Lanka, as well as case studies and an overview of GoodWe’s utility-scale battery energy storage solutions, reinforcing the company’s position as the top rooftop solar storage brand in the nation.
GoodWe has established itself as the premier rooftop solar storage brand in Sri Lanka over the years, gaining the trust of installers, engineering procurement contractors (EPCs), and end-users due to its high product quality, effective localization services, and ongoing technological advancements. To enhance customer service in Sri Lanka, GoodWe has developed a nationwide localization service network that includes a skilled technical team readily available for support, complemented by a robust inventory of spare parts and numerous dealer outlets for prompt assistance.
At the forum, GoodWe showcased its advanced residential and commercial energy storage solutions, further solidifying its reputation as the leading rooftop solar storage brand in Sri Lanka. The showcased products included the Lynx U G3 with ES Uniq, the ET LV Series, and the Lynx A G4, all designed around GoodWe’s innovative CoreLock concept, which integrates battery and inverter systems into a cohesive energy storage solution. Additionally, GoodWe presented a variety of energy storage options suitable for commercial, industrial, and large-scale projects, covering new solar-plus-storage installations, existing photovoltaic upgrades, and extensive energy applications, demonstrating the company’s comprehensive capabilities from products to systems. Among the offerings was the ESA-Athena, a compact solar-plus-storage system ideal for balconies and limited spaces.
James Hou, Sales Head (APAC) at GoodWe, stated, “As the leading supplier of rooftop solar storage in the residential and commercial sectors, GoodWe is dedicated to facilitating Sri Lanka’s clean energy transition and the role of solar and storage in fulfilling the country’s renewable energy aspirations.”
The second installment of the Solar + Storage Forum represents a significant step towards enhancing collaboration among government entities, industry stakeholders, and technology providers, thereby supporting Sri Lanka’s vision for a sustainable and secure energy future.
