Sri Lanka’s Exporters Request Fuel Supply Prioritization from CPC

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Officials from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) recently engaged in discussions with Sri Lanka’s export community to address critical issues regarding fuel availability, distribution challenges, and the necessity for a dependable fuel supply system tailored for export-driven sectors.

The meeting, organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), brought together representatives from various segments of the export industry to evaluate the existing fuel distribution framework and its repercussions on the export market.

According to the EDB, the key focus of the meeting was to develop a consistent and prioritized fuel supply system for industries that cater to exports.

Participants in the dialogue represented a wide array of sectors, such as apparel, gems and jewellery, electronics, marine industries, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, rubber, and technology. This included notable organizations like the Joint Apparel Association Forum, the Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters Association, the Ceylon Gem & Jewellery Traders Association, the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association, the Chamber of Marine Industries of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association, the Sri Lanka Ceramics & Glass Council, the Professional Engineers Association, the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM), the Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP), and the Sri Lanka Electronic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (SLEMEA).

Key figures in attendance included EDB Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe, CPC Chairman D J A S De S Rajakaruna, and CPC Managing Director Mayura Neththikumarage. (Colombo/Apr4/2026)
