FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Wednesday, Sri Lanka’s currency, the rupee, ended the trading session at 332.2/75 against the US dollar in the spot market, showing improvement from the previous day’s rate of 337.00/75, according to market participants. Meanwhile, bond yields remained largely unchanged.
In the telegraphic transfer market, the rupee’s rates against the US dollar were recorded at 326.5000 for buying and 335.50 for selling. The euro was priced at 374.5757 for selling and 388.4927 for buying, while the pound had rates of 435.9850 for buying and 450.0306 for selling.
A bond set to mature on August 1, 2030, registered a yield of 12.25/40 percent, reflecting an increase from the previous rate of 12.15/30 percent. In contrast, a bond maturing on March 15, 2035, remained stable, closing at 13.00/20 percent. (Colombo/Jun10/2026)
