FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Tuesday morning, the indices of the Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka experienced an upward trend, according to data from the CSE. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.23 percent.
The ASPI saw an increase of 48.30 points, reaching a total of 21,386.99, while the more actively traded S&P SL20 index grew by 0.07 percent, adding 4.00 points to reach 6,013.68.
Notable gainers contributing to the ASPI included Hatton National Bank, which increased by 1.18 percent to 384.75 rupees, Dialog Axiata, which saw a rise of 1.08 percent to 46.90 rupees, Colombo Dockyard, which advanced 2.49 percent to 123.50 rupees, and Richard Pieris and Company, up 3.08 percent at 26.80 rupees.
On the downside, John Keells Holdings experienced a decline of 0.50 percent, trading at 19.80 rupees, DFCC Bank fell by 0.78 percent to 127.00 rupees, and Kelani Tyres saw a significant drop of 8.49 percent, trading at 85.10 rupees.
The market turnover for the day reached 77.3 million rupees, with the capital goods sector leading the way, contributing 34.75 million rupees to the total turnover.
Renuka Holdings announced a proposed first and final scrip dividend of 0.212 rupees per share, both for voting and non-voting shares, for the financial year ending March 31, 2026. This proposal is subject to approval by shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 24, 2026.
Shares of Renuka Holdings were observed to be trading down by 6.84 percent at 42.20 rupees. (Colombo/September 01/2026)
