Sri Lanka’s Stock Market Rebounds Following Recent Decline

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka experienced a rebound on Friday afternoon following a decline earlier in the week, according to data from the CSE.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) increased by 0.32 percent, gaining 70.48 points to reach 21,768.20, while the S&P SL200 also rose by 0.36 percent, up by 21.80 points to 6,088.29.

The total market turnover was recorded at 905 million rupees.

Key contributors to the ASPI’s positive performance included John Keells Holdings, which rose by 20 cents to 20.10 rupees, Haycarb, increasing by 8 rupees to 170.25, and Dialog Axiata, which gained 30 cents to reach 44 rupees.

This week’s trading has been influenced by negative market sentiment following a resurgence of conflict in West Asia, as reported by brokers. (Colombo/Jul10/2026)
