Sri Lanka Secures Additional Rs13 Billion in Treasury Bonds Following Successful Auction

Sri Lanka has successfully issued bonds worth 13 billion rupees through a tap auction this week, according to the latest data from the Public Debt Management Office. This brings the total bond sales for the week to 189.62 billion rupees.

The bonds included one maturing on August 1, 2030 (LKB00530H016), which was sold at a weighted average yield of 10.16 percent. Additionally, a bond maturing on June 15, 2034 (LKB00934F154) was sold at a slightly higher yield of 10.24 percent.

Overall, the market saw total subscriptions reach 73.08 billion rupees. On Tuesday, the government sold bonds across various maturities, including those due in 2030, 2034, 2036, and 2039, totaling 176.62 billion rupees.

The settlement for these transactions is scheduled for May 15. (Colombo/May 14, 2026)
