FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Sri Lanka has successfully issued treasury bills amounting to 14 billion rupees, with average interest rates recorded at 9.77%, 9.99%, and 10.19%, as reported by the public debt management office. This latest transaction contributes to a cumulative total of 154 billion rupees in bills sold during the current week.
The overall market subscription reached 58.57 billion rupees. Specifically, the debt office issued a 3-month treasury bill at an interest rate of 9.77%, a 6-month bill at 9.99%, and a 12-month bill at 10.19%.
On Wednesday, July 5, the debt office had previously raised 140 billion rupees through the sale of 3, 6, and 12-month treasury bills. Following this, all three types of bills were made available for additional purchases. (Colombo/July 31, 2026)
