Sri Lanka Secures Additional Rs6bn in Treasury Bill Sale Post-Auction

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Public Debt Management Office of Sri Lanka has successfully sold treasury bills amounting to 6,000 million rupees on tap, with average interest rates of 7.66 percent for 3-month bills, 7.99 percent for 6-month bills, and 8.27 percent for 12-month bills. This brings the total treasury bills sold for the week to an impressive 66 billion rupees.

The breakdown of the sales is as follows: 3-month treasury bills were sold at an average rate of 7.66 percent, 6-month bills at 7.99 percent, and 12-month bills at 8.27 percent. The total market subscription amounted to 34,520 million rupees.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, February 18, the debt office successfully raised 60 billion rupees through the sale of 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month treasury bills.

The settlement date for these transactions is set for February 20. (Colombo/Feb13/2026)
