FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – In the latest auction held on Wednesday, yields for short-term Treasury bills in Sri Lanka experienced a decline, while the yields for longer-term bills remained unchanged, according to data released by the Public Debt Management Office. A total of 70 billion rupees worth of bills was successfully sold during the auction.
The yield for the 3-month bill decreased by 7 basis points, settling at 10.02 percent. Out of 35 billion rupees offered, 51.62 billion rupees were sold. Conversely, the 6-month bill saw an increase of 11 basis points, reaching a yield of 10.19 percent, with 25 billion rupees on offer and 8.73 billion rupees sold.
The 12-month bill maintained its yield at 10.16 percent, with 10 billion rupees offered and 9.64 billion rupees sold. Notably, the 6-month and 12-month bills are available for purchase on tap. (Colombo/Jun17/2026)
