Sri Lanka Sees Increased Treasury Bill Yields as Sales Decline

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Wednesday, Sri Lanka experienced a notable increase in Treasury bill yields across various maturities, as reported by the Public Debt Management Office. During the auction, a total of 71.74 billion rupees worth of bills were sold from an offering of 140 billion rupees.

The yield for the 3-month bill rose by 25 basis points to reach 10.09 percent, with 65 billion rupees available and 56.59 billion rupees successfully sold. Meanwhile, the 6-month bill saw an increase of 26 basis points, bringing its yield to 10.27 percent, with 55 billion rupees offered and only 8.92 billion rupees sold.

In the case of the 12-month bill, the yield increased by 14 basis points, reaching 10.16 percent, with 20 billion rupees offered and 6.22 billion rupees sold. All three types of bills continue to be available for purchase.
