Sri Lanka Set to Establish Embassy in Wellington Amid Foreign Minister’s Trip to Australia and New Zealand

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – Vijitha Herath, the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, is scheduled to inaugurate the Sri Lanka High Commission in Wellington during his upcoming trip to Australia and New Zealand, as announced by his ministry.

Herath’s itinerary includes travel to New Zealand and Australia from May 26 to June 3. During this period, he will engage in bilateral talks with New Zealand’s Minister Winston Peters and Australia’s Minister Penny Wong, according to the ministry’s statement.

Additionally, the minister plans to connect with high-ranking government officials, business executives, scholars, think tank representatives, and members of the Sri Lankan diaspora in both nations.

This visit aims to reinforce the enduring ties between Sri Lanka and both New Zealand and Australia, while also fostering collaboration in areas of shared interest.
