Sri Lanka Stocks Surge Amid Strong Corporate Earnings Reports

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka concluded Friday’s session on a positive note, buoyed by the release of several companies’ financial reports for the last quarter.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) saw a increase of 0.24 percent, translating to a gain of 57.33 points, settling at 23,709.84. Similarly, the S&P SL20 index increased by 0.29 percent, or 19.21 points, to close at 6,623.69.

The primary contributors to the ASPI’s positive performance included Hatton National Bank, with a share price of Rs.440.00, Richard Pieris and Company at Rs.36.90, and Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company at Rs.24.98.

Market turnover reached 8.51 billion rupees, marking an improvement from the previous day, with banking stocks leading the way, contributing 1.26 billion rupees to the total.

Abans Plc announced its financial results for the December 2025 quarter, reporting a profit of 1.41 billion rupees, reflecting a 33.14 percent increase. Meanwhile, Haycarb’s financial report indicated a 13 percent rise in profit for the same period, totaling 973 million rupees. The company’s stock closed up by 1.63 percent, priced at 124.50 rupees.

Additionally, Vallibel Power Erathna declared an interim dividend of 60 cents per share, with its shares closing up by 10.46 percent at 16.90 rupees.
