The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) successfully facilitated the country’s presence at Posidonia 2026, which took place from June 1 to June 5, 2026, in Athens, Greece. This event marked a crucial achievement in enhancing the visibility of Sri Lanka’s Marine & Offshore Services (M&OS) sector on the international platform.
Posidonia is recognized globally as one of the largest and most esteemed maritime exhibitions, serving as a leading venue for connecting stakeholders from the shipping, marine, and offshore industries. The exhibition draws thousands of exhibitors, industry experts, shipowners, maritime service providers, and trade visitors from around the globe, creating ample opportunities for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge.
Recognizing the strategic significance of the marine industry worldwide and the expanding capabilities of Sri Lanka in this field, the EDB organized a dedicated Sri Lanka Country Pavilion at Posidonia for the first time. Seven Sri Lankan firms, representing various segments of the M&OS industry, participated in this initiative. The companies included Colombo Dockyard PLC, CIAP (Pvt) Ltd, Deep Ocean (Pvt) Ltd, Pulsar Shipping Agencies (Pvt) Ltd, Seven Sails Shipping & Maritime (Pvt) Ltd, Omega Shipping (Pvt) Ltd, and Master Divers (Pvt) Ltd.
At the lively “Sri Lanka Pavilion,” the participating companies presented Sri Lanka’s strengths and capabilities in ship repair, shipbuilding, marine engineering, ship chandelling services, offshore support, maritime logistics, vessel maintenance, and other value-added marine solutions. The pavilion garnered significant attention from international buyers, industry leaders, shipping firms, and potential business partners, thereby reinforcing Sri Lanka’s status as a strategic maritime hub within the Indian Ocean region.
These companies gained valuable opportunities to interact directly with international stakeholders, discover new business avenues, and forge connections with potential clients and partners from diverse global markets.
