FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Tuesday, Sri Lanka’s currency, the rupee, was trading at a rate of 338.00/10 against the US dollar in the spot market, showing a decline from the previous day’s rate of 337.00/30, according to market dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields remained largely unchanged.
In terms of telegraphic transfer rates, the Sri Lankan rupee was quoted at 332.50 for buying and 341.50 for selling against the US dollar. Additionally, the euro was priced at 381.2184 for selling and 395.1354 for buying, while the pound was at 442.9204 for buying and 456.9660 for selling.
Regarding bond prices, the bond set to mature on August 1, 2030, was listed at 12.10/20 percent, a slight decrease from the previous 12.15/20 percent. Conversely, the bond maturing on June 15, 2034, saw an increase, quoted at 13.00/15 percent, up from 12.75/13.00 percent.
Looking ahead, an auction for Treasury bills amounting to 140,000 million rupees is set to take place on Wednesday.
