FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Tuesday, the Sri Lankan rupee did not have a closing spot price, with trading recorded between 327.85 (low) and 328.90 (high) to the US dollar, according to market dealers. In addition, bond yields experienced an increase.
The telegraphic transfer rate for the dollar was noted at 330.5000 for buying and 339.5000 for selling.
A bond maturing on December 15, 2027, remained unchanged at 9.10/30 percent. Meanwhile, a bond set to mature on March 15, 2028, saw a rise, closing at 9.75/85 percent, up from the previous 9.65/75 percent.
Additionally, a bond maturing on December 15, 2028, also increased, closing at 9.95/10.05 percent, compared to the earlier 9.80/90 percent. A bond due on December 15, 2029, closed at 10.20/30 percent, up from 10.00/10 percent.
For the bond maturing on August 1, 2030, the closing was at 10.30/40 percent, which is an increase from the previous 10.20/30 percent. Furthermore, a bond set to mature on December 15, 2032, closed at 10.90/11.10 percent, rising from 10.80/90 percent.
Lastly, a bond maturing on November 1, 2033, closed at 11.10/35 percent, a slight increase from 11.10/20 percent, while a bond due on June 15, 2034, closed at 11.35/42 percent, up from 11.25/35 percent. (Colombo/May19/2026)
